EUROPE follow One Show appearance with "Bag of Bones" UK tour

10/31/2012

Following EUROPE’s interview about the making of The Final Countdown on last night’s edition of BBC 1 Television’s “The One Show”, the band will start their “Bag of Bones” UK tour at the Birmingham o2 Academy on Wednesday 21 November, with special guests StoneRider.
Picture
Hot off  the heels of last year’s Balls N’ Banners UK Tour and sold out concert at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Sweden’s biggest hard rock band undertakes a nationwide November 2012 UK Tour.

Europe vocalist Joey Tempest believes that 2009’s Last Look At Eden album was a significant turning point for the band. That album proved to be Europe’s most important record since The Final Countdown. Now, with the release of their current album Bag of Bones, Tempest says, “Europe is ready to do some serious damage.”
StoneRider are special guests for all UK dates. StoneRider are a young, classic rock-influenced rock and roll band from Atlanta, Georgia. Since the 2008 release of their critically-acclaimed debut Three Legs of Trouble, they have toured the US twice and opened for the likes of Uriah Heep, Robin Trower, Graveyard and Radio Moscow.

For the 2012 follow-up album, Fountains Left To Wake, the band flexed their studio muscles and crafted a double LP reminiscent of Exile on Main Street with doses of Physical Graffiti - not as a sound-alike, but as a celebration of all StoneRider love about rock and roll. The new album blends a wiser, more robust rock sound with psychedelic rock’n’roll jook-joint boogie.

Happy Halloween from Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper has much to celebrate this winter following his triumphant Halloween Night of Fear III tour, presented by Live Nation, which rocks to a close in Sheffield on 1st November. The tour has not disappointed, with each venue seeing queues of ghouls, ghosts and zombies arrive to get their fix of the trademark Alice Cooper gore fest. With more fake blood than a hospital drama (and that’s just Alice), the now-annual rock n roll institution once again broke the mould of macabre entertainment and reminded us all why Alice is so loved in the UK.

Arriving on these shores with a blistering performance on the BBC's Later...With Jools Holland, Alice and his incredible band have delighted audiences live since.  With a varied set including the classic School's Out, celebrating 40 years since it hit Number 1 in the UK, Alice also included a set of acclaimed covers, paying tribute to fallen comrades from Keith Moon to John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix.

Alice’s Wembley date this year was special for more than one reason as he became the only solo artist to headline the arena in each of the last five decades. To celebrate this incredible achievement, Alice’s handprints were added as a permanent feature to the Wembley Square of Fame.

Tonight, Alice celebrates Halloween at Edinburgh's Usher Hall and before ending the tour in Sheffield tomorrow night.

The special edition box set Old School:1964-1974 Special Edition is out now, taking fans inside one of rock’s great bands in a unique full-length school year book. It includes an array of audio rarities, from the depths of the band’s own vaults and personal collections as well as gems generously provided by family, friends, road-crew and long-time fans.

Remaining Tour Dates:
31st     Edinburgh Usher HallNovember 2012
1st        Sheffield City Hall

Stuka Squadron no more! Welcome Iron knights!!

10/31/2012

IRON KNIGHTS is the new name for the band previously known as STUKA SQUADRON and here's why in a statement from the band.

Stuka Squadron have just returned from a massively enjoyable and highly successful tour of England and Wales – and now it is time for a fresh chapter in the band history. Just before we fired our former bassist Graham Cushway in September, he proceeded to trademark the band name claiming sole ownership and creation of everything that the band has achieved since its inception. Cushway, known as Lord Pyre, was actually a co-founder of the band alongside James ‘Duke Fang’ Begley, but has since claimed that he wrote everything on the debut EP and first album (a ‘fact’ not borne out by either reality or the official credits listed on the album) and was responsible for every aspect of the band’s development, including all goodwill generated by the band, up until his dismissal. We were not informed of his Trademarking, but simply happened upon it by chance. He also threatened us with libel action because we said ‘he resigned’. We did not. And he did not. So, to clarify the point that he wanted clarified: He was fired after the remaining band members considered that he repeatedly failed to measure up to many of his band obligations.

Following several lengthy emails from Graham Cushway detailing his demands and conditions in regard to the band continuing under the name Stuka Squadron, threatening legal action at every possible turn, we of course opted to contest his assertions. However, trademark and copyright law is extremely complex and difficult to prove, despite the facts being categorically listed and known to the band members. Legal counsel – who helped navigate a minefield of jargon – were compelled to point out that the proof that was available did not necessarily show the reality of events: much of the band’s early business being run in an extremely informal way. Indeed, the trademark will not even become confirmed until 28 November as it is still listed as ‘Advertised’ not ‘Registered’ and within the two month contestable period, yet already Cushway has had several images of ours removed from Facebook citing ‘copyright violation’; Facebook replying to our queries with information about the complainant but also the fact that they immediately react to complaints rather than check the facts of the matter.

During our tour we continued to receive emails from Cushway threatening us with all manner of legal action regarding the premature breach of his not-yet-enforceable Trademark. We were warned by him to immediately cease all shows under the name Stuka Squadron. Needless to say, the gigs were superb!

This whole sorry episode will serve no purpose other than to get between the band and its growing legion of headbanging hardcore metalhead fans.  This is a situation we cannot allow to continue.  With the band moving steadily forward, an excellent new bass player (and even an excellent substitute bass player who deputised for the recent tour!) we have decided to start a new chapter and not fund this bottomless legal money pit. Thus the Stuka Squadron is reborn. We have been promoted. We are no longer merely a Squadron…we are the IRON KNIGHTS…and under this banner we will continue to move forward. Despite Graham Cushway’s attempts to prevent our new album release (an album he did not play on), and his interference with the label and in turn the distributors who are handling this release, it will merely be postponed by a week and will emerge under the new band name: Iron Knights. Stuka Squadron is no more – but the Iron Knights are now unstoppable.

The release of the album ‘New Sound Of War’ will be postponed from the original release date of 19 November 2012 to 26 November 2012 and it will be an Iron Knights album.

The new website is www.ironknightsband.com and will be live imminently.

And in the spirit of bringing the music to the people that matter, everyone can experience one of the best live bands on the planet in summer 2013.  Tickets in the UK range from just £12.50 up to £125 (plus booking fees) for dates up and down the country.
"The band insisted on ticket prices for the Because We Can Tour that enabled all to attend," says UK Tour Promoter Rob Hallett, of AEG Live, "giving everyone the opportunity to witness the greatest rock n roll band in the world!

"Ordinary fans have been priced out of live music in recent years and we hope this goes some way toward redressing the balance.

After all, rock n roll always was and always should be the music of the people. And that means everyone."

The band’s return to the road in 2013 will cap an incredible run which has secured Bon Jovi’s status as the essential live rock band – having performed more than 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 35 million fans and earning the #1 grossing worldwide tour twice in just three years.

“Because We Can – The Tour” will also debut brand new songs from new album What About Now, due out in Spring 2013, loading even more ammunition into the band’s huge arsenal of hits including “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” “It’s My Life,” and many more.

With one of the greatest catalogues of songs in the history of rock n’ roll, Bon Jovi has sold more than 125 million albums and racked up a stellar list of career highlights.

Joe Satriani, one of rock music’s most respected and celebrated electric guitar players, will undertake a 10-date 2013 UK tour starting Saturday 8th June at the Manchester Apollo. This will be Satriani’s first UK tour since 2010’s Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards tour . Very special guest is blues guitarist Matt Schofield.

Tickets go on sale Friday 2nd November and can be booked online from www.ticketline.co.uk or call 0844 888 9991 or the venue direct.  The tour coincides with Satriani’s new solo album released by Sony worldwide in May 2013, followed by a career retrospective box set in the spring.

The tour coincides with the news that Satriani will record a new solo album later this year for a worldwide release via Sony in May 2013.  The enterprising guitarist is also in the planning stages of releasing a career retrospective box set for spring 2013.

Earlier this year, Satriani performed a sold out concert with Chickenfoot at the London Brixton Academy in support of the band’s second album III.  He also embarked on multiple G3 tours in Australia, Europe and South America, had his music sampled in Nicki Minaj’ hit single Right Thru Me, and appeared as himself in Brad Pitt’s Oscar-nominated baseball film Moneyball.

Mascot Label Group will release the highly anticipated seventh solo album “Transition” by guitarist, vocalist, composer/producer/arranger, Steve Lukather, on Monday 21st January 2013.

The album will be followed by an extensive European tour that will include two UK concerts at London’s Islington o2 Academy (March 29) and Bilston’s Robin 2 (March 30).

One of the original founding members of the multi-million selling rock band TOTO, Lukather will showcase his innate feel for rock and jazz guitar music, along with his impeccable song writing talents. 'Transition' showcases extraordinary guitar playing performed across some of the most heartfelt songs of Steve’s career.  The album will be released in three formats including limited deluxe edition CD, jewel case CD, and vinyl.

Track Listing:
1. Judgement Day
2. Creep Motel
3. Once Again
4. Right The Wrong
5. Transition
6. Last Man Standing
7. Do I Stand Alone
8. Rest of the World
9. Smile

Over the previous decade a series of trials including divorce, the death of his mother and business hassles had dampened his joy in music making — a passion that drove Lukather to excel since seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan as a seven-year-old growing up in San Fernando Valley.  “'Transition' is a turning point for the album and a turning point for me,” Lukather explains. “As we were writing the songs, I was thinking about everything I’ve seen — all the people I’ve lost in my life, the great and the difficult experiences I’ve had, and how ultimately it was time to get it together and embrace things for what they are.  We’ve only got one life to live so we should make the most of it.”

In addition to his work with TOTO, Lukather has played on hundreds of albums with some of the biggest stars and legends in music including Van Halen, Whitney Houston, Alice Cooper, George Benson and Rod Stewart, he even played guitar on Michael Jackson’s multi-million selling milestone album ‘Thriller’.

‘Fear Nothing’
 [Tour Edition}  December 1
Blues rock powerhouse vocalist Beverly McClellan from smash hit TV show "The Voice" USA  is set to release her album "Fear Nothing" in the UK & Europe through Favored Nations on Dec 1 before embarking on the UK leg of her world tour with guitar virtuoso Steve Vai.

The television show, "The Voice" introduced her to millions of viewers as a singer of stunning power and range with the presence and ability to draw comparisons to Etta James, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt and Melissa Etheridge, to name just a few of the great torchbearers whose legacies she evokes. Now McClellan is set to make her debut international release with Fear Nothing, an album which presents her as a true and original artist — a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and dynamic presence with the ability, authority and desire to carve her own place in music history. McClellan, who is an openly lesbian artist and activist for LGBT charities, believes she has a message: “It’s simple: be yourself, love yourself, always be honest, and let the rest come naturally. That’s the way I live my life and make my music,” she says. And that’s the easygoing Zen she applied to the recording of Fear Nothing at Los Angeles’ House of Blues studios with producer David Z. (Prince, Fine Young Cannibals, Billy Idol, Buddy Guy).

A soulful rock singer with honest lyrics and a raw sound, Beverly plays over 10 instruments and has already released five independent albums. Originally from Virginia, she’s worked the clubs and bars around Fort Lauderdale, Florida for nearly 20 years, always looking for that big break.Having recorded lead vocals for the song "John the Revelator" on Steve Vai's 2012 album The Story of Light, McClellan is excited to be bringing her music to the world out on the road with the legendary guitar maestro this autumn.

Beverly McClellan’s “Fear Nothing [Tour Edition]” is released Dec 1 and will only be available in Europe. This special package contains 3 never before released bonus tracks.

“Beverly is a vocal powerhouse to be reckoned with, who holds her own with the best of them.”  - Christina Aguilera

“Everything about her goes out to you much like a bright light. She is an exquisitely rare and colorful exotic bird who spreads her wings for everyone.” - Steve Vai

“I love her.” - Bret Michaels

'Fear Nothing' [Tour Edition] Track Listing:
1. I See Love
2. Lyin’ To
3. It Ain’t Me
4. Nobody’s Fault But Mine
5. I Can’t Hide Me
