LED ZEPPELIN Celebration Day Debuts at Number 4 in the Album charts Hour-long version to be shown on BBC2 on 8th December at 10:45pm Daily Telegraph: “Celebration Day is a celebration of rock ‘n’ roll at its most moving, magical and magnificent”
Daily Record: “For many this was the greatest ever concert – and not just because it was the reunion of one of rock’s greatest ever bands” Q: “If Zep never play together again, then this is as great a swansong as anyone could hope for” MOJO: “Celebration Day is a reminder of Carruthers’ statement that on December 10, 2007, you had to be there. If you weren’t, this is the next best thing” Uncut: “In amidst the hail of statistics, and judged against their own increasingly epic live shows, Celebration Day is a surprisingly intimate and human thing. On one level, another Guiness World Record broken. On another, a group of friends once more enjoying the glory of their music” 9/10 Sunday Express: “Jimmy Page rips on Whole Lotta Love like a guitarist reborn and John Bonham’s drummer son Jason acquits himself brilliantly” Guardian: “The track listing consists of what Plant calls ‘ the songs that had to be here’ – from the funky Trampled Under Foot to a skyscraper of a Kashmir – and if they never play them again, posterity could do worse than remember them this way” Daily Star: “Brilliantly filmed to put the viewer right in the action, it’s a real thrill to see the heavy metal veterans strain themselves back into those titanic riffs. A cause for celebration” 10/10 Kerrang: “One reason Led Zeppelin offered for this reformation was that they wanted to remind the world ‘what we were’. Mission accomplished” Daily Mirror: “It’s a two-hour tour de force worthy of their heyday” The Sun: “December 10, 2007, is rightly remembered as Celebration Day, the day Led Zeppelin proved once and for all they are the hard rock band by which all others must be judged… If the great Led Zeppelin have disappeared forever and this show is the last we’ll hear from them, I advise you to watch and listen…and smile” 5/5 Following rave reviews, Led Zeppelin’s Celebration Day has stormed both the music and DVD charts this week. Released on 19th November in multiple formats, the album has collected five-star reviews from the likes of Q Magazine, Kerrang, Daily Mirror, The Telegraph and MOJO amongst others. The show that compelled 20 million people to apply for tickets will also be shown as an hour-long special on BBC2 on 8th December at 10:45pm. On December 10, 2007, Led Zeppelin took the stage at London’s O2 Arena to headline a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. What followed was a two-hour-plus tour de force of the band’s signature blues-infused rock ’n’ roll that instantly became part of the legend of Led Zeppelin. Founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, to perform 16 songs from their celebrated catalog including landmark tracks “Whole Lotta Love,” “Rock And Roll,” “Kashmir,” and “Stairway To Heaven.” The show was originally seen only by the 18,000 ticket holders who were fortunate enough to have secured seats through the worldwide lottery. But now everyone who wished they were at the gig in 2007 can enjoy the show as if they were there After a global theatrical release in October, the band’s first headline show in 27 years is now available in the following formats: Standard Editions – 1-DVD/2-CD set and 1-Blu-ray/2-CD set · Deluxe Editions – 2-DVD/2-CD set and 1-Blu-ray/1-DVD/2-CD set featuring exclusive bonus video content including the Shepperton rehearsals.
