The Graveltones 'Don't Wait Down' October 21 Lagoon Dog Records LONDON'S HOTLY TIPPED BLUES-INFUSED GARAGE ROCKERS THE GRAVELTONES ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM "Demonic vocals, thunderous drums and lusty live performances. What more could you ask for?" Classic Rock Magazine "The Graveltones live are a phenomenal experience. Watching them bulldozes any presumption of a new White Stripes or Black Keys thanks to their Bonham-esque thunder drumming and cocooning vocals." Londonist "Here are two absolutely amazing musicians making it look so easy to be just that good... Just on the cusp of a breakthrough... [it] is going to be a massive year for The Graveltones." The Grapevine Fresh off the back of landing a nomination for Best New Band of 2013 in this year’s prestigious Classic Rock Awards, London’s hotly-tipped, blues-soaked, garage rock ‘n’ rollers THE GRAVELTONES are excited to announce their highly anticipated debut album 'Don't Wait Down' which is set for release on October 21 through the band's own independent label Lagoon Dog Records, and distributed by RSK Entertainment.
The album will be preceded by ‘Catch Me On The Fly’, the first single to be taken from the album, which is due for digital release on August 26. Watch the official video to ‘Catch Me On The Fly’ With lyrics being compared to Bob Dylan, riffs to Rage Against The Machine, vocals to Howling Wolf and beats to Bonham, it's easy to see why the dynamic duo have been stirring up such a frenzy on the London scene amongst music press and fans alike. Having amassed a dedicated following, The Graveltones’ Jimmy O (vocals/guitar) and Mikey Sorbello (drums) smashed their way through their crowd-sourced album campaign with revolutionary music platform Pledge Music in record time this summer. The resulting debut album features 10 tracks recorded at Monnow Valley and Miloco Studios and produced by The Graveltones along with the renowned producer Charlie Francis (REM, The Noisettes, Future Of The Left). The release of Don't Wait Down comes at the end of what has already been a hugely successful year for The Graveltones, having released their eponymous debut EP to rave reviews with Londonist naming them #1 in the 'Top London bands to watch in 2012'. The band have played an impressive 350 shows across the UK, Europe and Australia, including a full UK tour with American rockers RIVAL SONS and a performance at this year's Download Festival. They also landed sync deals with the Irish Lottery and cosmetic giants Rimmel who took advantage of their phenomenal studio sound using the band's first single 'I Want Your Love' to front their national TV advertising campaign against the face of Kate Moss. Having recently been signed to global booking agents TKO, the band are currently routing European tour dates for the end of 2013. The band’s recent nomination for this year’s Classic Rock Awards in the Best New Band 2013 category is the latest in a long line of achievements that the remarkable pair have already conquered before the world has even heard their full debut album, and sets them firmly amongst some of this year’s most incendiary buzz bands including The Temperance Movement, Deap Vally, Walking Papers and Hey! Hello to name a few. Vocalist/guitarist Jimmy O comments: “We never expected this, it's a real honour to be nominated for the Classic Rock Awards - Best New Band, to be amongst so many great bands means a lot!” The band are set to play a top secret exclusive launch gig in London on September 17 for Pledgers and industry, with a limited number of tickets being made available for the public to win. Originality, excitement, honesty and survival are all part of what makes a legend, and those qualities ripple through every song on West’s upcoming release. Since his historic performance with Mountain at the 1969 Woodstock Festival, West has enjoyed a glittering career spanning over half a century, accomplished in spite of a life threatening battle with diabetes, which cost him his right leg in 2011 (shortly before the release of his 'Unusual Suspects' album) "I’m lucky it wasn’t one of my hands or I’d be screwed," says West. "It was a difficult struggle, and after the amputation I didn’t know whether I’d ever want to or be able to perform again. A month later I played at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp in New York City, and I heard my guitar on stage and that was it. I knew I had to keep going." Looked upon by West as a sequel to 'Unusual Suspects', which featured collaborations with the likes of Slash, Zakk Wylde, Steve Lukather, Joe Bonamassa and Billy Gibbons, 'Still Climbing' sees West joining forces with Jonny Lang, Johnny Winter, Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider and Alter Bridge and Creed’s Mark Tremonti. It’s better than being a dead one.” Following their triumphant return to the top of the album charts with their first release with Ozzy in three-and-a-half decades, the band are being hailed by critics and fans alike. The CRROH Living Legend Award will be the icing on the cake of the Brummies’ all-conquering return. Joining Ozzy to collect the award will be fellow band members Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi. The Living Legend Award has become one of the most highly coveted awards in the music industry. It is only ever awarded to those artists who have truly cemented their place in the rock pantheon – with past winners including ZZ Top, Jeff Beck, Alice Cooper, Jimmy Page, Lemmy and Iggy Pop. This year Ozzy Osbourne picks up his second title – he won as a solo artist in 2008 – alongside his bandmates. Rock has hit the headlines even more this year with groundbreaking gigs and tours including the Rolling Stones returning to Hyde Park and headlining Glastonbury, Bon Jovi helping out the Spanish and European economies with cheap tickets on sale, Status Quo hitting the silver screen, Pink Floyd’s one million plays on Spotify and of course the unexpected return of David Bowie. This year’s Roll Of Honour will doubtless cause a few more headlines! MD of Team Rock Chris Ingham says: "It's been another amazing year for high-voltage rock'n'roll and Classic Rock is honoured to be hosting our annual awards show at the Roundhouse again. We're delighted to welcome Black Sabbath to collect our Living Legend Award. It's wholly deserved as not only do they have a career to celebrate, but Ozzy, Geezer and Tony blasted back with a brilliant new album in 2013 that reminded us all how it should be done. Rest assured, the Roll Of Honour will be another great night of rock'n'roll celebration and moving speeches, and will close with a live set from The Darkness that will no doubt need to be seen to be believed!"
