Explosive UK metal newcomers ready debut album release
‘Dry Lung Rhetoric’ ABAF Records, June 3. ‘A beautiful blend of progressive textures and soaring vocal arrangements.' – TheNewReview ‘Purely sensational music and experimentation.’- Throwing Shapes Media & Reviews “Dry Lung Rhetoric is a calling card from a band destined for great things, combining melody, aggression, attitude and ambition to an exhilarating effect.” – OneMetal.com Bursting onto the UK metal/prog-metal scene all guns blazing, energetic new Reading-based six-piece Schemata Theory prepare to unleash their explosive debut album ‘Dry Lung Rhetoric’ on June 3. The album, which was recorded at the renowned Stakeout Studios and produced by Jason Wilcock (Fightstar, We Are The Ocean, The Ghost of A Thousand), features 11 tracks and includes a guest appearance from Mutiny Within’s Chris Clancy on concluding final track, ‘The Final Breath’. Combining many aspects of the metal genre, Dry Lung Rhetoric fuses classic thrash riffing, progressive technical instrumental passages, melodic hooks and soaring choruses, creating a set of songs that are accessible, original and thought provoking. From the groove-metal orientated ‘Perish or Prevail’ to the piano driven ballad ‘Your Belief’, through to the more commercially melodic ‘Drones’ and catchy lead single ‘A Complex Slate’, the album is an experimental mix of eclectic metal infusions with the influence of bands such as Dream Theater and Metallica being prominent in the complex song structures, technical riffs and prominent guitar solos. The message behind the album is an interesting one. “The album’s themes communicate acknowledgement of a sleeping world needing to wake up,” explains psychology graduate and vocalist Myles Dyer. “With so much evidently in crisis on this planet, the question that must be asked is ‘How much longer can we go on turning a blind eye?’” The band has released an impressive and eye-catching video for lead single ‘A Complex Slate’, which has already gained in excess of 45,000 views. View the video here: http://youtu.be/0gLG_KCY_D0 The single is available to download now on iTunes. For all ticket purchase information: JudasPriest.com Forum, London https://www.movietickets.com/purchase/perf_id/705937891/movieid/162263 _________________________________________________________________ Judas Priest's current lineup comprises lead singer Rob Halford, lead guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Scott Travis. Heavy metal historians will regard EPITAPH as the most far-reaching live concert recording in the band's career. The set revisits the climactic closing date of the 50-week Epitaph World Tour, captured live at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on May 26, 2012. Adding to the drama is the fact that this was Judas Priest’s final large-scale world tour ever. EPITAPH’s 23 tracks represent at least one song from every one of the band’s 14 studio albums, from 1974’s Rocka Rolla ('Never Satisfied') to 2008’s Nostradamus ('Prophecy'). In the special case of British Steel, four songs are featured: 'Rapid Fire, 'Metal Gods', 'Breaking The Law' and perennial set closer, 'Living After Midnight'. Others exempted from the one-song-quota are the LPs which appeared before and after British Steel. The first of these is 1979’s Hell Bent For Leather (UK title: Killing Machine) which lends the title song as well as 'The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown)'. The other LP is 1982’s Screaming For Vengeance, source of 'The Hellion', 'Electric Eye' and 'You’ve Got Another Thing Coming'. “They have epitomized the genre with their Harley riding frontman, rapid-fire guitar assaults, and spectacular stage shows,” wrote journalist Bryan Reesman in his liner notes for 2004's leather-bound, metal-studded Metalogy box set. “Influential, innovative, and exuberant in expression,” he wrote, “they are the true Metal Gods who have been as unwavering in their desire to expand the boundaries of their music as they have been in crossing international borders to deliver it to their disciples.” “Unabashedly committed to their cause, and unrepentant in proclaiming themselves a true heavy metal band even when others have shied away from the term, Judas Priest have forever been defenders of the faith.” Following his critically acclaimed new album Thank You Mr Churchill, and his successful 35th Anniversary Tour of his multi-platinum selling live album Frampton Comes Alive!, Grammy®-winning guitarist and songwriter Peter Frampton will play a rare UK concert at the London Camden Roundhouse on Tuesday 5th November.
Planet Rock will run an exclusive 48-hour ticket presale from 9am on Wednesday 24th April via www.planetrock.com. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday 26th April from www.kililive.com or by calling 0844 871 8803 and 0844 482 8008. FCA! 35: An Evening with Peter Frampton, a live 2DVD, Blu-ray and 3CD set of the 35th Anniversary of Frampton Comes Alive! was released last November by Eagle Rock Entertainment. On the DVD, Peter performed the best selling live album in its entirety along with a second set including songs from his Grammy®-winning career. Australia’s award-winning powerhouse rock band TRACER are pleased to announce the long-awaited release of their new studio album "El Pistolero" - released in the UK on Monday 6th May. The release will be supported by a re-scheduled UK tour that will start at the Sheffield Plug on 8th June, ending at the Isle of Wight Festival on 16th June. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Silverchair, Cold Chisel) the album is on target to make Tracer the band that everyone will be talking about in 2013. With the addition of new bassist Jett Heysen-Hicks, founding members Michael Brown (vocals and guitar) and Dre Wise (drums) are determined to take Tracer to the next level. "The song writing has gone up a peg or two,” says Michael Brown. “Kevin had us doing things we would never have thought of doing and because of that we've stepped into a new realm. I think El Pistolero will define what Tracer is about, and why we're different to everyone else." Watch the new EPK here El Pistolero commands a high-energy mix of stoner anthems, biker attitude and classic rock, it is the sound of a 21st century band making their best album to date – a high-energy collection on no-holds-barred rock’n’roll. It’s hot, loud and sweaty.
Tracer have come a long way since forming in Adelaide, South Australia around 10 years ago. They’ve made two independent mini albums; Into The Night (2006) and L.A.? (2009), but it wasn’t until they released their 2011 debut album Spaces In Between that people really began to take notice. They’ve toured Europe 3 times, and won Best New Band at the 2012 Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards. Track Listing 1. El Pistolero 2. Lady Killer 3. Dirty Little Secret 4. Dead Garden 5. Now I Ride “Joe Bonamassa - An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House” will be released in the U.K. on 2-CD, 2-LP, 2-DVD & Blu-ray formats by Provogue Records on Monday 25th March (followed by U.S. release on Tuesday 26th March). The release dovetails Bonamassa’s run of four exclusive London concerts which kicks off on March 26th at The Borderline. The concert was recorded at the historic Vienna Opera House in July 2012 during a very special unplugged tour, played to a limited audience over seven exclusive European shows. Varying from Bonamassa’s predominantly electric blues shows, this presentation was an all-acoustic concert performance, making it a unique and very special show fans had been waiting years to experience. The Opera House in Vienna, regarded as the “City of Music,” was chosen for the main event because of its history and splendour, and association with many legendary composers. Accompanying Bonamassa on stage are traditional Irish fiddler Gerry O’Connor, who also plays mandolin and banjo; Swedish multi-instrumentalist Mats Wester on the nyckelharpa, a keyed fiddle; Los Angeles-based keyboardist Arlan Schierbaum texturing the mix with celeste, accordions, toy pianos, and assorted “organic” instruments; and renowned Puerto Rican percussionist Lenny Castro. Joe recalls, “Originally, when I had the idea of doing an all-acoustic concert, I imagined doing it solo. I’d surround myself with a bunch of guitars, tell the background story of each song, and then play it. Kevin believed the show would be more exciting with a band and he got to work. All of a sudden, we had a five-piece group, and 72 hours to rehearse 20 or so songs. It was amazing, different than anything I’d ever done before.” An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House features gorgeously textured music made with a wealth of rare, vintage, organic, and “oddball” instruments. Highlights among the 22 songs include Woke Up Dreaming —the one acoustic song, and fan favourite, that Bonamassa regularly plays during his electric shows, as well as Around The Bend, Driving Towards The Daylight, and Sloe Gin.
